Crowns, Bridges, and Veneers
If you have a damaged or decayed tooth, our dentists can help you choose the best solution. Crowns and bridges are custom-fitted tooth prosthetics that function and look like natural, healthy teeth. Veneers are a less invasive alternative, but may only be a solution for those with slight tooth damage or discoloration. These thin porcelain or resin shells come in customizable colors and are bonded to the surface of your teeth.
Crowns
Damaged and decayed teeth can be effectively restored with tooth-colored crowns. A crown is a permanent covering that fits over your original tooth. This restores health and strength. We use crowns matched to your natural tooth color, which improve your smile’s appearance as well as your overall dental health. Crowns can be used to whiten, reshape, and realign teeth as well as to repair and correct any damage. We can make custom crowns for you in just one appointment for a very quick, personalize treatment plan and experience.
Bridges
Missing teeth can create a host of aesthetic and functional problems, but bridges can be used to restore health and beauty to your smile. A bridge consists of a replacement tooth and two crowns that can be fitted over the adjacent teeth. Bridges can prevent teeth from shifting and improve the aesthetic appearance of your smile. Our dentists use tooth-colored bridges for the most natural-looking results.
Veneers
One of the most versatile and personalized cosmetic dentistry procedures available, porcelain veneers produce whiter, straighter teeth, and even fill in gaps between teeth and reach hidden space for a full smile. Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain used to recreate the natural look of teeth, while also providing strength and resilience comparable to natural tooth enamel. It is often the material of choice for those looking to make slight position alterations, or to change tooth shape, size, and/or color.
A thin shell of ceramic material, a porcelain veneer is bonded to the outside of each tooth. In most cases, your existing teeth remain largely intact when we apply porcelain veneers. With some brands of porcelain veneers, we may be able to maintain the entire tooth, such as with LUMINEERS®, for patients looking for a strong, safe, durable, and, best of all, quick way to have beautiful, white teeth should investigate this option.
Since veneers are individually sculpted for each patient, it is nearly impossible to tell the difference between a veneer and a natural tooth. Unlike natural teeth, custom-made veneers resist coffee and tea stains, and cigarette smoke because they are made of high-tech materials.
With veneers—as opposed to crowns—your natural teeth remain largely intact with only a minimal amount being altered to fit the veneer.
